My EBR Rising Star is Molly O’Hare
My EBR Rising Star is one of the funniest, down to earth Authors that I know. She has a great sense of humor, a wonderful outlook on life, and lives everyday as it should be lived…with laughs, love, and a kick ass attitude.
Her work has gotten rave reviews from her readers and I’m sure after taking this quick journey into her life, you will want to see what her fans already know…she’s a breath of fresh air! My Rising Star for the week is Author Molly O’hare!–
Get to Know Molly O’Hare
Much like any author out there, sleeping does not come easily to Molly. As it turns out, she has horrible insomnia. When she was younger, to help herself fall asleep she would recite stories. Each night she’d pick up where the story left off previously until the tale was complete. One morning, after she finished a particularly fun adventure, she decided she wanted to start sharing them with others. A few months later, here she is, sharing her lack of sleep with all of you. Who said the stories in our heads can’t be fun for others?
What is your idea of a perfect date?
Surprisingly enough, my husband and I normally don’t do the whole “date” thing. Even when we were dating. I’ve always been the person that would rather stay at home and watch movies or YouTube videos, or maybe go on a car ride… Now that I say that out loud, it makes me think I’m a dog. Ehh, that’s okay. So, my perfect date would be going for a long car ride jamming out to music at the top of my lungs.
When did you discover your passion for writing?
I would say I’ve always been a fan of writing. Whenever we would get writing assignments in school, I would be all over it. However, I didn’t find my passion until early 2015. I used to write online and soon found if I went a few days without writing I was grumpy. 2015 was also when I picked up reading again, not that I didn’t read before, but this was a, “I have to read everything, or I’m gonna die” kind of thing. So, in a nutshell, 2015 is when everything changed for me.
Wine and cheese or Beer and nuts?
Well, if you are giving the option of cheese, it will ALWAYS be the winner. Cheese me, baby! I do like nuts (don’t we all), but I can’t drink beer to save my life. I take one sip and make funny faces…come to think of it; it’s the same face when I drink dry wine. What can I say I’m a sweet kinda girl. Over Thanksgiving, my sister in law found a local wine that tasted exactly like cranberry sauce, and I’m talking the good kind here. The one that is shaped like a can. I think between her and I we drank both bottles.
What is your life motto?
“People are gonna judge you no matter what so you might as well f*ckin’ do it anyway.” Being a plus size woman, I’ve been judged so much I now let it roll off my back. Seriously, if it makes me happy, I’m going to do it. I like to live every day as an adventure, to me that’s most important. There will always be people that look down on you or judge you. The main takeaway is not to let it bother you. Yeah, that can be hard sometimes, but we never know what they might be going through. So, do whatever the hell you want to do. As long as you’re happy, tell everyone else to GFY.
How important is the support of your readers?
Readers are EVERYTHING. We write to share our stories. To this day whenever I get an email from a reader, I’m humbled. I started this journey because I had stories in my head that wouldn’t leave, the fact anyone wants to read them and live them along with me blows my mind. Readers are our backbones. They are our lifeline, and to me they are everything. I am beyond thankful for every reader that’s read my books. I’m so humbled by every single one.
Favorite pastime?
Car rides? Just kidding, well kinda. Sure, there is my joy of reading and writing, but I really like to explore. I love getting lost somewhere. Maybe that goes back to my obsession with car rides? There is nothing better than driving somewhere and exploring a new area. Live your life as an adventure, you never know what you might find.
What are you currently working on?
Right now, I’m almost done with the sequel of Stumbling Into Him, the story of Ben and Holly, oh and I cannot forget their over opinionated Corgi, Lord Waffles. I couldn’t seem to let them go once I was done writing their story, so I figured why the heck not. It should be released in March, followed by two other stories I’m working on. But those are top secret… Mainly because I have nothing written yet and my muse is keeping it from me — that B*tch.
I want to thank EBR from the bottom of my heart for even considering me in this. I’m still flying high from it. EBR has been such a huge supporter of mine since the beginning. I thank you so much.
