Hi all, my name is Chenell Parker. I live in New Orleans, La where I was born and raised. I am the author of several book series and a few standalones.

The Interview
When did you write your first book and when did you realize you could be an Author?
I wrote my first book in May of 2014 and it was published in the July the same year. Unlike most authors, I did not start writing at a very young age. I basically just decided that I wanted to give it a try and I did.
Are any of your books based on real experience?
Most of my books are from something that has happened to someone else or very similar to the situation. I always put my own spin of it and made it completely fictional though. I never ever use the exact scenario.
Who are some of your favorite Authors and how have they influenced your writing?
I love Eric Jerome Dickey. His storylines are always unique and his word usage is amazing. I’m always inspired by his unique storylines.
Where do you draw inspiration from?
I can get inspired by anything. It can be tv, a conversation or reading a different genre. Inspiration is everywhere.
Wine or Liquor?
Wine. Sometimes both depending on the kind of day I’ve had.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I would love to live anywhere that has a beach (blue water of course). To me, sitting on a balcony with my laptop and a glass of wine overlooking a blue beach is perfection.
What is most important when writing, plot or character development?
They both play an important role in the storyline but I’m very big on character development. I like readers to connect with the characters and a good plot is an added bonus.
Have you ever written a book that you’ve never published?
No, I’ve published everything that I’ve written so far.
Eat the cake or save the calories?
You only live once…dig in!
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years I hope to see one of my books on the big screen or Netflix
Are you currently working on a project? If yes, when can we expect a release?
Yes, I am finishing up a project now and I hope to have it out by December.
Finally, what message do you have for your readers?
I wish I could personally hug them all. Since I can’t, I would just like to thank them for all the love and support. With hundreds of books being published every month I’m thankful and honored that mine are among the ones that they choose to read.
