Author Bio
L. A. Cataldo’s books combine romance, thriller, and suspense with a touch of humor. Her approach to writing is fast-paced love, some dark and emotional impact. They’re engaged to grab you and keep you wanting.
She is a romantic at heart. She believes that a true romance can become reality. Or maybe in one’s dreams.
She lives in Wisconsin with her husband and two sons, and a bunch of dogs running around. “wink” She was raised in a large family of Sicilians. Her mother was an avid reader who passed on her love for books to Laurie.

The Interview
Now that you have written and published your first book Dark Past, how have readers responded?
Readers have took well to the book. Some did not. It being my debut novel, it was trial and error. I’ve learned a lot during this process and everyone’s feedback helps!
What was the most exciting part of your journey to “New Release” day?
The most exciting part was accomplishing something. It was the best feeling in the world. I’ve always wanted to write as long as I can remember. The day it finally happened … Pure excitement!
Your second book in the series is being released soon, which characters will be the focus and what can readers expect?
Jake & Jen are the characters in book two. I know many people are hoping to hear more about David but he comes later on. “wink” Expect some excitement in this book. There is a lot going on you don’t want to miss out!
What do you like to do when you aren’t writing?
I love hanging out in my yard. It’s like paradise back there. My gardens are beautiful, especially when in bloom. I love photography also. On the side, I take many pictures. I also take pictures for my husband’s band & website. I love the opera and plays. So many more things. Too much to list.
Is the process of releasing novel what you expected and how did you feel when it finally happened?
The process is eventful. There is a lot of work involved but when said and done … Glorious!
When did you know that you wanted to become an author?
I’ve wanted to write when I was a teenager. I use to write things down all the time but never really did anything with it. Later on, I tried poetry. It was not my forte. Finally, one day, I sat in front of my computer and started to write. It turned into a book. Already an avid reader, I asked an author friend of mine to help me with the process and Wala… published!
What authors inspire/influence you and what other genres do you enjoy?
Many Authors inspire me. I love many genres, so I really couldn’t pick just one. If I go back, one author comes to mind, Rosemary Rogers. Her book was the first I fell in love with. I still have her book.
Do you have any plans for a book signing or author event?
Yes I do! I have one coming up in June. Readers & Author get together. Ragt17 event. June 8-10, 2017 I’ll be signing on Friday. For more information Click Here!
What is most important to you while writing, the characters or the plot?
That everything is going to hold the readers and keep them wanting more. If I can do that, we are set!
