Emilia LeBlanc and her family were humble people. Her parents moved them to California for a better life and better healthcare for her little sister Rosie. She hated her life and couldn’t wait to leave for college. Her parents worked for a wealthy family and they lived in the servant’s house next to the main house. Their son, a tried and true asshole that made her life a living hell. She had no clue why he hated her so much. Why he made it his life’s mission to torture her day in and day out. She didn’t have any friends at school, so coming home was a nightmare. She had an undeniable attraction to him and even through his hate filled treatment, she felt a sliver of something from him…..10 years later he came for her and he made sure she found out.
Vicious Spencer a guy with a past that gives rhyme to his reason. The girl he loves to hate drives him insane with her very presence. She’s an enigma that he doesn’t understand. She makes him feel things that he’s never felt and he hates every minute of it. He uses her love for her family to betray her and break her. Now 10 years later, he finds her and he realizes what tortured him about her is still very much alive. Slicing at the very fabric of his soul.
The Good:
This book tortured me, which means it was epic! My emotions were everywhere. I didn’t know whether to love or hate Vicious. Whether to cheer for or get mad at Emilia…

The Bad:
Vicious was a straight asshole…even when he “redeemed” himself, he was an asshole. That is the one bad thing I have to say was bad…well…no….Emilia was too weak for me. Even when she stood up for herself, she appeared weak…I can’t stand that!

The Ugly:
What happened to Vicious for him to turn out the way he is, no child should have to go through that. Abuse is hard to recover from.

Worth the Read?
This is a true story of love and hate. That thin line that leaves you vulnerable because both emotions are extreme. Listening to this read tore at me in a way that left me spinning out of control one moment, making me want to pull my hair out in the next, and then I wanted to jump my husband’s bones! The Author left nothing to the imagination. This was pure, raw, emotional magic. Vicious was out to break Emilia and Emilia wanted to save him. A beautiful, yet, ugly collision. Will love or hate prevail? Will Vicious learn to stop torturing the one person who can save him from his own torture? This is most definitely a Solid 4 1/2 Star Read!
