Shaya Critchley is a half-shifter… a submissive in her pack and the true mate of her Alpha. He refuses to claim her so she is done! He keeps interfering in her life and she has had it with his domineering ways. She doesn’t understand why he won’t claim her, but, won’t let her go. She leaves and goes to a place where he can’t find her. Living amongst the humans and trying to create a life for herself that makes her happy. Although danger is near, she needs her own life.
Nick Axton…stubborn as hell Alpha and finding it hard to resist the attraction he feels for Shaya. He can’t claim her. Not with having a brain condition that will ultimately leave him unable to be Alpha and a burden on Shaya. The thought of not seeing her is too much, so he tracks her down and what he finds is a Shaya that he didn’t know existed. She is demanding, feisty, determined, and not easily persuaded.
The Good:
I loved seeing that an Alpha’s true mate could be a submissive. This was the perfect balance, but, Shaya showed him she was up for the challenge.

The Bad:
Nick’s refusal to admit his feelings frustrating!!!

Worth the Read?
Nick was determined and fought hard for Shaya. Shaya was magnificent and she proved that a submissive could be respected and feared by a dominant. She deserved to be by Nick’s side as Alpha female. Manipulation and deceit tries to keep these two apart by a surprising source. Shaya is not giving in so easy as Nick tries to win her over and doing things he never thought he would do. Will true love prevail? How will Nick react when he finds deceit within his own pack? Will Shaya breakdown and give in to Nick’s control over her? Solid 4 ½ Stars!
